Kinetic Method for Determination of Dopamine Hcl in Bulk & Injectable Forms

A rapid, precise, simple, and sensitive, kinetic method for determination of Dopamine HCl (DA HCl), through reacting with 2,6-dichloroquinone 4-chloroimide (DCQ) was developed. The reaction between DA HCl and DCQ was found to obey pseudo-first order with respect to Dopamine HCl. Rate constant, fixed concentration, and fixed time methods were studied, of which the latter was more appropriate, Dopamine HCl could be assayed at a fixed time of 20 min by applying the following equation: A=0.023+1439 C (r=1.000) Where A, and C are the absorbance, and the molar concentration, respectively.
